As of March 2026, Major General Gregory Knight is the retiring Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard. He served as the Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard for seven years. He was succeeded by Maj. Gen. Henry “Hank” Harder Jr., following a change of command ceremony in March 2026. He was named the Vermont Chamber of Commerce's 2025 Citizen of the Year. Upon his retirement in March 2026, he has not ruled out a future in politics.
